We are still in the "in between" time of moving where you have half your stuff at one house and half off it at the other. For the most part, we have all of our stuff at the new house, but the old house still needs a lot of cleaning to be back on the market by Tuesday. We also didn't want to sleep in the new house  yet until some of the carpet was torn out with all that cat pee. So at the moment, I am cleaning the old house while Henry takes a nap.

We spent the morning at the new house though, cleaning it and tearing out carpet. I cleaned with the carpet cleaner to try to get some of the cap pee smell out. From what I've been told, it will take a long time for the smell to fully disappear and lots of baking soda.

With the really badly stained carpets, we ripped them out. I was happy to see them go.

See ya, you disgusting thing, you.

Not to nit-pick, but everywhere I look there is something to either clean or replace it seems. This goes from ceiling fans that don't work, light fixtures that have blown out, toilets that are so rusty that you don't even want to use them,  and even window screens full of dust and dirt.

Big round circle of dirt where a window air conditioner must have been.

Our room seems to be the worst of the rooms. It has a bad paint job, stained carpet (which will also be ripped out) and more holes the walls.

The rock garden also has been taken over by weeds.

But it will eventually all be cleaned up. It will be fun to watch the progress. Cleaning the carpet was a good start and already I noticed that the cat pee smell isn't as strong.

The kids don't seem to notice or mind the dirt. They've loved making themselves at home, even though there's no TV or computer hooked up, their toys are either in boxes or bags and no furniture has yet been put in their rooms. They've just enjoyed exploring the house. And the best part is that I never know where they are! There is a lot of room here, that's for sure!

We took time to take our first family photo in our new house. Kind of a hot and tiring day, but at least we look happy!

Once we move everything over, like the beds, the computer and TV, (which we will be tomorrow) I will be off the Internet for a while so I won't be able to update. All the better I suppose, since I will be busy cleaning and unpacking anyway. Hopefully soon I will be able to post some pictures of the updates we will be doing soon.

Till next time~

Becky
